KidLog (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a mobile application provided by Software Kit SRL, a company based in Romania. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the KidLog mobile application (“App”) and related services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 App Usage Information (From the Child's Device)

Using Android’s Accessibility Service, KidLog collects the following information:

• Name of the app opened
• Timestamp of when the app was opened
• Duration of app usage

KidLog does not collect:

• Website URLs visited
• Messages, call logs, or notification content
• Keystrokes or any text input
• Photos, videos, or files stored on the device
• GPS or location data
• Contacts or calendar information

We strictly limit collected data to app-usage events only.

2. Account Information

2.1 Google Sign-In

Parents authenticate using Google Login. When you sign in with Google, we may receive:

• Your Google account name
• Email address
• Profile photo (if provided by Google)

We do not access your Google contacts, Google Drive content, or other Google data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Synchronize app-usage data between parent and child devices
• Display usage history and statistics to the parent
• Maintain and manage user authentication and sessions
• Improve the performance, reliability, and features of KidLog

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

KidLog stores data using:

• Firebase Firestore for app-usage logs
• Firebase Authentication for account and login management

These services (provided by Google) use modern security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Data Sharing

We may share your data only in the following limited situations:

• With your explicit consent
• To comply with a legal obligation or governmental request
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or Software Kit SRL
• With service providers (such as Firebase/Google) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and data protection obligations

We do not share data with advertisers or marketing networks.

6. Children’s Privacy

KidLog is intended to help parents monitor the app usage of their children. Only the parent creates and manages the account. We do not require the child’s name, email address, or other direct contact information.

The information collected from the child’s device is limited to app-usage events as described above.

As a parent, you are responsible for installing and managing KidLog on your child’s device, including informing your child about the monitoring where required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

We retain app-usage logs and account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the services. Data may be retained for a reasonable period after account deletion for backup or legal purposes, unless you request earlier deletion where applicable.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable data protection laws (including, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR), you may have the following rights:

• The right to access your data we hold

• The right to object to or restrict certain types of processing
• The right to data portability

9. Third-Party Services

KidLog uses third-party services such as:

• Firebase Firestore
• Firebase Authentication
• Google Login

These services may collect certain technical information (such as device identifiers or crash logs) as described in their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties.

10. International Data Transfers

As Software Kit SRL is based in Romania, your data may be processed within the European Union and, through Firebase or other third-party service providers, in other countries. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we will take appropriate safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection as required by law.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

Your continued use of the App after changes are published means that you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
